BREL Precision is part of the BREL International group of companies, which includes BREL International Components, Inc. The RMB16-Microminiature Axial Leaded Resistor is available immediately with delivery of stock to 5 weeks a.r.o. The RMB16 is one of the world's smallest leaded resistors primarily supplied to the hearing aid manufacturing industry, but suitable for many different medical and industrial applications. The RMB16 is the next evolution of the RKL family of micro-miniature leaded resistors for the hearing aid industry established over 50 years ago in Germany with the original RKL2 resistor. The RKL2 allowed the industry to realize the extremely small size of the ITE-In the Ear hearing aid so popular today along with many other families of aids. With the advent of SMT-Surface Mount Technology, many resistor applications can use SMT components. However, these leaded resistors and other leaded passive and discrete components are still the component of choice by engineers for many hearing aid designs. These and other leaded parts will continue in use by the industry in substantial volumes for all the latest products. In an effort to ensure the continued availability of the leaded resistor for hearing aid manufacturers, the RMB16 was designed in cooperation with a major world-class supplier of electronic components. Key features of the RMB16 includes uniform shape with extremely small size (0.036x0.075 inches), digital marking of resistance value on two sides, robust leads of pure nickel with solder coating suitable for soldering or welding. A radial lead version as well as other products for similar applications will follow the RMB16. Pricing is $0.55 to $0.65 each depending on quantity. Delivery is stock to 5 weeks.
